On top of our once-a-month camping trips, our summer so far has certainly been a busy one. I thought our June calendar was packed, but July certainly topped it! August at least is looking a bit less hurried, with some vacation time planned at the end. Here are a few of my favourite pictures from the last little while, to show what we've been up to.
| Summer camp has been a hit, with a different theme each week. "Secret Agent" was one of his favourites. |
| I made it up to 10 kilometers in my running, then my hip started acting up. Working on figuring that out now. |
| This was a great day - we had just left the allergist's office with fantastic news - C is no longer allergic to eggs! Life is just SO much simpler without food allergy worries. We are all very grateful for this! |
| We finally got started replacing these awful stones. I'll post the "after" photo soon. |
| Eric tried his hand at this once I had distracted Colin. |
| Some major decluttering has been going on, inspired by a host of minimalism blogs. There is so much more "space" in our house now, and I've been very thankful for our nice big truck! |
| C loves the camera. |
| Summer haircuts. |
| E has been impressing me with his mastery of the monkey bars! |
| C had a successful first visit to the pediatric dentist. We got some unexpected news too - I always thought he was missing a tooth (he only has three bottom incisors) and that it was stuck down in the gums somewhere. Turns out he instead has two teeth fused into one! How strange. You can sort of see how the circled/fused tooth is wider than the incisor next to it. |
| Goofing around in a bus stop after the dentist. |
| E has been in swimming lessons since the end of June, and has been terrified of jumping from the diving board. After a two-week break, and lots of talking about his fears, last week he just decided he wasn't scared anymore. He walked right up there and jumped off! So proud of him for working this out. |
| C is also working on his fear - of slides! He has no trouble climbing as high as he can, but he has been terrified of sliding down. Perhaps it's the speed? |
| This weekend we visited Nana and Pappy. Someone had a blast on the lawnmowers. |
| Uncle-powered ride. |
| The Batman Brigade. |
| Relaxing after a long day. |
| Exploring a whole lot of wood. |
| C climbed up for a cuddle on Pappy's Lazy-Boy. |
Whew - lots of memory-making! Getting out of bed this morning was hard for all of us, especially with the rain falling. C was in a particularly cranky mood. Thankfully I was mostly able to cure that with a pancake and fun umbrella. On to August now!
